CLASS DOJO
We are now using class dojo in the classroom. You should have received your child's secret code so that he/she can log on and see their behavior charts as well as change the avatar. During the day your child can earn points for positive behavior and lose points for negative behavior. I am still tweaking the behaviors that are on the program and still may change some more. As of right now, in our classroom the rule is you have to have 3 points to clip up. That means if a child has 3 points but then loses a point, the clip is moved down. 3 negative points and the clip goes to yellow if on green. We are still experimenting with the best way to manage the points in our class and I will let you know if it changes. So far the students are very excited about this. I keep the point screen on the board so that students are aware of how many points have they have. It also helps me to be more aware of when I have already given a warning to a student. Remember, the students are still learning the expected behavior and they are kids. Just because your student may have lost a point, or some points, does not mean it was a horrible day. It would be possible for your child to still clip up even after losing points if the student made the choice to change the behavior. Another great thing about this program is that it allows you to log on and see your child's behavior as well as for me to email reports to the parent. This is new to all of us so please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

**I have told the students that I can overrule the points and have students clip or down regardless of the points as needed. That way if a student does something that is super wonderful, I can have them clip up immediately. The same is true for clipping down. :)
